I have a confession to make…I put my Christmas tree up in
September…
Tiny scraggy black Christmas tree! |
But don’t worry I'm not that Christmas crazy, I was testing
the how my hand made decorations looked on my little tree (its black to
compromise with the boyfriends Christmas indifference) which whilst being very
pleased with them all and tweaking a few bits it was an eye-opening experience
for my own Christmas plans.
Now last year I worked so much in the day job and trying to
do a hand-made Christmas (never again) that the decorations never went up…The
night I had set aside to do it I was far too tired and decided catching up on
Coronation Street with a bottle of wine was more what the doctor ordered. Now
this is something I will regret because they won’t be going up this year either
because of the Christmas tree destroying monster that is….the kitten.
The devil in disguise, Tulip! |
I had my lovely crochet lights hanging in our beautiful
giant window to photograph with plans of making some for myself and she howled
at them continuously until I took them down.
Wolf kitten. |
The baubles made excellent footballs and the twinkling
lights on the tree where just a game of claw snap. What should have taken me an
hour took me nearly 3 as the tree kept flying off the table as she played as a
kitten shaped bowling ball and the tree was a pin.
Fancy footballs |
Even Ganthet has his Scrooge head on. I thought he might
like cuddling up in a prototype fussy wreath but instead he just balled up and
huffed, I think he might have preferred me to crochet a hedgehog for the middle
rather than a robin.
Grumpy hedgehog has lost his Christmas spirit! |
If you have or are able to have Christmas decorations up
this year then go for it! Mine shall remain for another year collecting dust
inside a box….
The final pictures minus Christmas Tree :( |
